Letter to the Editor

I sent this to the Jackson Sun today:

I took a recent letter’s advice and looked up the definition of fascism. I discovered it was born of socialism and Democrats currently support some of its key tenets. It seems fascists are reactionary, making policy based upon current conditions rather than preventing problems. Look at the Democratic policy regarding terrorism or Social Security and we clearly see who the fascist party is. Another example is chauvinism in which no one has equal rights, but there are varying rights based on characteristics such as race or creed. Democrats support Affirmative Action, creating rights for certain people while leaving others out. A third illustration of fascism is a pronounced hate and accepted public disdain of a specific group. At a January 29th press conference, Howard Dean, now DNC chairman said, "I hate the Republicans.” With his leadership, perhaps Democrats can get those other fascist traits checked off their list quickly.
